About

I’m a Cuban expat that found in Madrid a second home and a family. I’m also the Engineering Lead of ShuttleCloud, a company specialized in email and contacts migration at scale.

For the past 10+ years, I’ve been managing large distributed systems and writing automation software. Something close to what is called today Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). Although SRE is not necessarily a novel discipline, it’s only recently that it has become somewhat formalized as such through a book. Quoting its creator “[SRE] fundamentally it’s what happens when you ask a software engineer to design an operations team”.

There are more info about my professional career in linkedin and some of my Free Software contributions in github. You can contact me through the email address mmoya [at] mmoya.org and for encrypted messages, you can use the key 0x141991cf37903488. I also maintain an eclectic timeline in twitter.

Curious about my country of origin? A good start is Oye mi amol (spanish content) and if you feel like dancing, warm up with Happy in La Habana and La maquinaria.
